"Immune system' cells awakened to fight cancer": Trento, September 29, 2024

by Marco Ranocchiari - Il T Quotidiano

Cancer is made not only of cancer cells, but also of the microenvironment that surrounds it: the “healthy” cells of the patient's body, primarily those of the immune system, which by interacting with the tumor can hinder or promote its development.
The 35th Pezcoller Symposium, held in June at the University of Trento, focused on
the study of cancer seen as a “systemic” disease.

Recently, the most relevant news from the conference, one of the most important in the field of oncology internationally, was presented with an online event organized by the European School of Oncology and CIBIO, Department of Cell, Computational and Integrated Biology at the University of Trento.
