Interview with ex president of the Pezcoller Foundation on relations with the US association: “Thanks to the meeting of minds, the local area has risen to a global level”
Pietro Monti, an accountant from Rovereto, served as president of the Pezcoller Foundation between 1996 and 2001. It fell to him to sign the agreement with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), which opened the doors to a now-global dimension for the Trentino-based organization.
For the AACR itself, the results achieved are largely tied to the Foundation’s scientific rigor: “For twenty-nine incredible years, we have worked together to recognize cancer scientists who have made pioneering contributions,” comments Margaret Foti, CEO of the American organization. “Thanks to the Foundation’s vision, programs and activities have grown in impact, stimulating important scientific advances and improving the lives of cancer patients worldwide.”
For Dr. Foti, the Award represents “the most prestigious of all AACR scientific accolades and stands as a testament to Professor Pezcoller’s unwavering commitment to improving patient care.”
