On the day of the “Festa in Rosa” (Pink Party), the annual event held to raise funds for research in memory of Patrizia, we interviewed her brother, Nicola.
«My sister passed away on June 1st, 2016, and we started this initiative that very August. Choosing a party was our way of finding strength together, but also of remembering Patty as she truly was: a real party lover. What started in the early years with just friends and acquaintances has grown to hundreds of people coming together for a wonderful evening where fun goes hand in hand with supporting research.»
“Over the years, we have managed to raise an impressive €90,000 and donate it all to cancer research. This year, our goal is to reach six figures.” In 2019, these donations funded the two-year Pezcoller-SIC “Patrizia Coser” Fellowship, and another fellowship will be established in January 2027: “Seeing the money go toward something concrete and prestigious, like a research fellowship, helps overcome any skepticism.”
